Open auditions are held for all Pendleton Players productions. Any Pendleton Heights High School student is welcome and invited to participate. Audition dates, times, and locations will be posted on this website, on school bulletin boards, and announced during the all school announcements.
For the straight plays, students need only attend one of the two audition dates and should plan on reading from the script. Audition material will be provided and will usually be available prior to auditions for those wanting additional preparation time. Scripts can be checked out from the Performing Arts Department office for one night at a time and will be available up to 2 weeks prior to auditions. Students should bring a recent photo to attach to their Tryout form.
For the musical productions, students are asked to prepare 16 bars of song to sing. It is recommended that they select a musical theatre selection and preferrably not from the show being produced. Students who come prepared obviously have a better chance than those who do not. Students will also be asked to read from the script and may or may not be asked to do some dance movement or participate in a dance audition. Again, audition material will be available prior to auditions for those wanting additional preparation time.
There is some flexibility with rehearsal scheduling, but students should be prepared to actively participate in rehearsals or they should perhaps consider auditioning at another time.
Child auditions are held occasionally for productions that need younger actors. We will cast high school students whenever possible though.
